Ways to Get Involved With Service Work

Murray, KY Alumni Meeting - Need volunteers to ride to Murray, KY on the 2nd Friday of every month for a satellite alumni meeting. Discovery Place has over 50 men living in Kentucky and this meeting is a way to reach out to all of the alumni, friends, and families in Murray. For more information or to get in the rotation to volunteer please call Randall H. (615)293-1237 or Kenny B. (270)227-1142. In the future we are also trying to add an alumni meeting in North Alabama. Let us know if you can help.

Group Facilitators - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 8am-11:45am we encourage past alumni to come back and share their experience, strength, and hope with our current guests. Please call Bob O. (615)414-7430 for more information and requirements.

Saturday Outing Chaperone - Most Saturdays we have an outside activity and are in need of volunteer chaperones to join our staff member. Some of the activities we do are bowling, canoeing, movies, etc. For times, dates, and events please call Andy J. (615)403-9029

Friday Night Chairperson - We are always in need of people to chair the alumni meeting if you would like information. Please see Gordon S., Brian W., or T.J. P. at the meeting, or call Discovery Place (615)740-8600.

Sunday Service Speaker - We have a guest speaker every Sunday afternoon at 1:15pm. If you would like information please call Andy J. (615)403-9029 or Joe M. (615)740-8600.

Fundraising - The sole purpose of our Alumni Association is to raise money to add to our financial aid fund. We have an annual golf tournament, bowling tournament, and picnic. The money collected on Friday nights goes directly into our fund. We are currently selling hats, shirts, golf towels, and cookbooks. If you are interested in purchasing something or would like to make a suggestion of ways to raise money for a financial aid fund please contact Brian W., T.J.
