COMMUNITY PARTNERS

Collaborative Partners

Discovery Place regularly collaborates with other nonprofit organizations to achieve our goals. Our goals are 1) to continue to be an Alcoholics Anonymous 12 step recovery rehabilitation center that positively changes men's lives from a life of alcohol and drug addiction, and 2) to partner with our community individuals, businesses, and other not-for-profits to further their goals as well. Two of our collaborations are with the Second Harvest Food Bank and the New Life Foundation.

Through cooperative efforts with the Second Harvest Food Bank, men in alcohol and drug recovery get the opportunity to be "of service" which includes packing and shipping food to persons in need. In return of their service commitment, Second Harvest Food Bank provides food supplies to men at Discovery Place that are in Alcohol Anonymous 12 Step Recovery Process from drug and alcohol addiction.

In a collaborative effort with the New Life Foundation of Davidson County, we provide education on alcohol and drug addiction at the Alcoholics Anonymous club-house located at 5925 O'Brien Street in Nashville, Tennessee. This location also serves as a volunteer recruiting center for Discovery Place.

Many of the photos you see on our website were generously donated by Heather Elam. She is a professional photographer who has made several trips to our facility and spent many hours taking and editing just the right photo.

Discovery Place is a big believer in the power of collaboration. These relationships are just a couple of examples of how individual nonprofit organizations can work together to impact their community and the communities around them.

We have many other cooperative relationships not listed here. We are anxious to work in cooperation with other organizations, so if you have a project in mind, we would love to talk with you and discuss any opportunity you may have. Please call us @ 1-888-749-8600.

Foundations and Trusts

Grant funding from Foundations and Trusts are critical to supporting the treatment of men in drug and alcohol addiction using the Alcoholics Anonymous 12 step recovery process at Discovery Place. We are extremely grateful for our current and previous funding partners. Through our partnerships with these funding sources, we have been able to accomplish many capital projects and programs that provide treatment to those recovering from drug and alcohol addiction that would not be available without their kindness.

Several good examples of grant funding that have helped us fight drug and alcohol addiction are grants from:
The Baptist Healing Trust, The Memorial Foundation, Hands on Nashville, Community Resource Center, The Christy Houston Foundation and The Dollar General Foundation.

For example, The Memorial Foundation recently funded a project to make our buildings more handicap accessible, and the Baptist Healing Trust has recently funded a project enabling us to radically improve our Continuing Care Program for those receiving treatment for drug and alcohol addiction.

Foundation and Trust funding is an ongoing effort for us. We are able to provide treatment to men battling drug and alcohol addiction because of your generous suggestions and partnerships. If you have suggestions for us, or if you think your organization might be a good fit for us, please contact us @ 1-888-749-8600

Donor Partners

Discovery Place is the leading provider of residential treatment in the state of Tennessee using Alcoholics Anonymous 12 step recovery process to free men from drug and alcohol addiction. Although we offer our programs at approximately 1/2 the cost of conventional alcohol and drug rehabilitation treatment centers, many of our guests need additional financial assistance. In 2009, Discovery Place awarded over $100,000 in need-based scholarships to qualifying individuals. Most of these men would not be able to afford our treatment program of rehab from drug and alcohol addiction without your help.

We are very grateful to our donors. Both individual and group donations alike are vital to Discovery Place's ability to continue to carry the treatment of the Alcoholics Anonymous 12 step recovery process from drug and alcohol addiction. Your support is needed and appreciated!
