Our Mission

Discovery Place is an affordable retreat dedicated to helping men find personal recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. Our experienced staff introduces each man and his family to the spiritual principles of the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous in a relaxed countryside setting. We believe these principles are the foundation for a contented, useful and whole life.

Our Vision
It is our vision that each man complete his stay at Discovery Place with a clear understanding of the spiritual illness of alcoholism/drug addiction, and more importantly, that he will have “discovered how to recover” through the practice of the Twelve Step principles as a way of daily living….one day at a time.

Our Guiding Principles

• Discovery Place will use literature as approved by the General Service Conference of Alcoholics Anonymous as its guideline for the Twelve Step approach.
• Discovery Place is a spiritual retreat and as such does not endorse nor oppose any particular religion or denomination.
• Discovery Place will endeavor to create an environment that encourages and promotes emotional, spiritual and physical well-being. 
• Discovery Place is committed to insuring these services are accessible, cost-effective and of the highest quality.
