My name is Randall Hinsley and my sobriety date is December 19, 2004. I began drinking and using when I was in 10^th grade. I finally felt a part of rather than a part from. I barely escaped out of high school, but luckily I passed. I continued my story by being a three time college drop out, getting kicked out of the Navy, lost two apartments, arrested four times, losing three jobs, and violating probation twice. I guess looking back drinking and drugging caused a few problems in my life. In December of 2004 I hit my bottom hard. I violated probation and lost a good job at which I had just been promoted. I knew I needed help and asked my parents for treatment. I went through an outpatient program and by the grace of God stayed sober until my court date. Ron F. came to court with me and arranged for Discovery Place to be part of my jail sentence. When I got here I had about 40 days dry and didn’t see how life without drinking and drugging could possibly be better. That was an ideal that quickly changed and the promises of this program are still continuing to come true in my life. I’ve been blessed with a loving family, a new place to live, and an incredible job that I get so much out of. Looking back it is still hard for me to fathom how many miracles have occurred in my life just in the last few months.
