Residential Recovery Program Facilities
Our main campus is located 30 miles outside of Nashville, Tennessee on 17 spacious acres of pristine farmland. Two beautiful ponds accentuate the landscape and offer excellent fishing for guests, family, and visitors.
Many guests enjoy recreation on our beach volleyball court and basketball court, while others prefer to spend time playing ping pong, billiards, air hockey, or Frisbee golf. The Dewitt building houses all staff offices and provides ample space for Twelve-Step recovery meetings, speaker meetings, group discussions, family workshops, and other gatherings of larger groups of guests, volunteers, and visitors.
Upstairs, guests enjoy movie nights and sporting events on our big-screen HD television. Discovery Place guests live together in an atmosphere of community, fellowship, and recovery in one of two houses. The "Main House" accommodates all new guests; features include a Quiet Room (a quiet area suitable for reading & study), a non-denominational chapel (used for Daily Reflections morning meditation & personal quiet time), the "Comfy Couch Room," the guest kitchen, and a game room complete with ping pong, billiards, and exercise equipment.
Bedrooms house up to four guests each; each room has a shared bathroom. Recent renovations upgraded much of the Main House, including the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom areas. After two or three weeks on property, Discovery Place guests can expect to move to the "Squirrel House." This house was also recently renovated and features a living area with comfortable couches and chairs, updated bedrooms and bathrooms, and more. Guests in the Squirrel House typically live with one or two roommates, and together with other senior guests, pitch in to help encourage the newer guests and make them feel welcome.
Discovery Place alumni who find themselves struggling in sobriety (with the condition that no relapse has occurred) are invited to stay in our "Renewal House" in order to strengthen their resolve in recovery for up to one week, free of charge. Alumni who would like to participate in this program should call Discovery Place to make arrangements with staff. The Renewal House features a living area with a flat-screen TV, renovated sleep quarters and a waterfall shower.
